Thank you for the invitation! I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts with all of you.
ReplyDeleteBeen as busy as ever, as we've expanded our coverage area to include Thomaston and the sports section continues to expand.
Just got back from watching Seymour put it to Watertown, 10-0 at Veterans' Park.
Same old 'Cats; they wait for you to make a mistake and pounce - hard.
A very well-drilled and smart team.
More on Seymour: This may not be a vintage Seymour softball team, but they make the most of what they have: depth, great starting pitching, solid fundamentals and smarts on the field.
ReplyDeleteThey know they're going to beat you, and then go out and do it; nothing fancy, strictly business.
Impressive to watch.
As for the Indians, they have been without starting pitcher Meg Cordon all season; she's just gotten back after a prolonged bout with back spasms (she has played third since returnng last week); in her place, Cate Lucewicz has done a solid job, but the Indians lack the pop, outfield defense and upperclassman experience to make a serious NVL or CIAC post-season run after starting 0-4.
Giants fans; stop apologizing for and excusing the behavior of Lawrence Taylor already!
ReplyDeleteHe's a bad guy; another enabled jock who thinks the rules don't apply to him - see this week's issue of SI with Big Ben on the cover.
It appears the losses of the last few years have caught up to the Angels, judging by what happened at Fenway Park this week.
An organization just can't continue to sustain losses of players the quality of John Lackey, Chone Figgins, Darren Oliver and Vlad Guerrero for nothing in return without feeling the pinch eventually.
Fact is, the Angels have always overvalued their prospects (Dallas MacPherson anyone?) and have been led by overly-conservative GM's such as Bill Stoneman and the incumbent Tony Reagins.
Luckliy for the Halos, no one has been able to pull away in the AL West - yet.
